Like a larger percentage of the United States, every year at the end of December we begin the tradition of packing up the Christmas decorations. We spend the better part of a day pulling decorations off of the tree, remove stocking hangers from the mantel, and gather up the miscellaneous holiday clothes to get stored for another 11 months. It's at this time we begin our post holiday game of find the forgotten decoration.
Invariably, no matter how hard we try - or how long we leave the decoration boxes out to catch the remnants - the moment we push that last box under the stairs to hide until the following November, we find something we missed. It happens every year to the point it is turning into tradition! Happy New Year! You're up, Mrs. Xaqaria!
